Myth #2: In order to properly form some hydroformed parts, I may need pressures upwards of 30,000 lbs. per square inch (psi).

Wrong again! This is a myth created by companies who are in the business of selling presses. Therefore, they want you to believe that you have to buy their presses in order to form your parts. Ninety percent of hydroformed part designs can be manufactured at 30,000 psi or less. And at HDT, we evaluate your design ideas for any opportunities to make slight modifications which can reduce the pressure needed to form small radii or difficult part features. Lower pressure means smaller presses, reduced capital investment and a greater ROI.
